But it's not a one-step cleaner. It won't fix scratches, and it doesn't replace polishing. We've also had fewer marring issues with it on soft paints (some factory finishes are really soft). For a shop, that counts.

We mark bars with a marker or cut them in half—one half for paint, one for wheels and glass. It sounds like overkill until you see what a contaminated bar does to a finished hood.

If the bar drops on the floor, don't rinse it and keep going. Relegate it to undercarriage or throw it out. The cost of a new bar is less than the cost of a paint correction.

For polishers, the tool that can burn clear coat if it fails, we stick with a platform with local service and battery availability. For vacuums, compressors, and less critical gear, Chinese value brands are hard to beat. The catch is battery platform consistency. If the brand changes their battery format, you're stuck.
